Arie Strafare
A tongue-in-cheek (and recession-friendly) survey of some of the overdone arias mezzo Stephen Chen was asked to perform over the years. Most of which he resisted, and some he ended up liking.

Becoming (or, is there life after opera?)
An eclectic cabaret that charts Stephen's journey in pursuing his childhood dream of being an opera singer, struggling for acceptance, living in exile, and ultimately rediscovering his voice.

Demi-Monde
Exploring the "Half-world" of society through the interweaving of classical and contemporary repertoire such as Faure, Brahms, Rossini, Schumann, Lloyd Webber, and Yeston.

Four Walls
Stephen Chen tackles the dysfunctions of domesticity by pairing John Cage's Four Walls with his Vicious Cycle based largely on the subversive poetry of Dorothy Parker

Parlor Songs
No props, no costumes, it will just be about the music. I have always subverted and satirized performance conventions in my shows, and removing the artifice of the concert hall seems the next logical step.
